BioForum is the umbrella and member organization for the organic sector in Flanders. Bioforum is the interlocutor for sector-related knowledge transfer to the farmers and for legislation and policy discussions. BioForum plays a leading role in the Flemish Organic Knowledge & Research Network (FORK) and coordinates 7 (one per sector) organic farmers’ networks (participatory networks of farmers, researchers, technical advisors and the supply chain). Additionally, depending on the local needs from the farmers, BioForum sets up specific working groups. Within these working groups, information is distributed among participants, discussion and interaction with experts is facilitated, inspiring examples are demonstrated, experiences are shared etc. The goal of the organization is to strengthen the organic sector in Flanders and in Europe.

Bioforum will work in WP 1, as a leader of the carbon sequestration thematic. Bioforum (together with BOS+) will develop a tool allowing citizens and industries to compensate CO2 emissions by investing in agroforestry. This tool and agroforestry plantations will be demonstrated on a field visit.

Bioforum will work in WP 6, in order to communicate climate solutions from and to the organic sector.
