The School of Geography of the Faculty of Environment is ranked the 2nd in the UK for environmental research, combining social and natural sciences in leading-edge, interdisciplinary research. The School of Geography is ranked as the 2nd for geography research in the UK.
The School of Biology within the Faculty of Biological Sciences addresses the millennium challenges of global food security and adaptation to environmental change, providing both fundamental and applied research on the maintenance, adaptation and management of populations and ecosystem services in a world of increasing human demands. Among other, the School manages the UK National Pig Centre, the biggest pig research in Europe.
UnivLeeds will lead as I3S manager for UK Pigs I3S across tasks in WP1, WP3 and WP6. It will also contribute in WP2 to evaluating non-climatic environmental factors and co-benefits (T2.2, T2.3) and testing existing models in particular for use in indoor and outdoor pig sector (T2.4). UnivLeeds will assist with the arable crops I3S in the UK led by NESTLE-UK&I and GWCT. Finally, we will work in T4.1 on the scaling toolbox and incorporating co-benefits into upscaling analysis.
